Responsibility: My objective is partner with external customer executives and internal business leaders to manage programs with the vision of co-developing new AWS industry products and services. My scope is focused on driving the end-to-end process from scoping the product goals and business strategy, to delivering a final product to the marketplace as guided by the program management plan.
Achievements: Drove the program management plan and operations, in partnership with BlackBerry/QNX, to deliver AWS' first piece of software to ship in a production vehicle over a 22-month duration. Delivered releases 94% on time to customers, with remaining 6% agreed delay to not compromise quality of product. Improved efficiency of operations through value-stream mapping, achieving $600k saving per year.
Delivered an all-time Amazon record of reducing Delivery Associate attrition by 37%, over 24 months.
Responsibility: My objective is to improve engagement and lower the attrition rate for delivery drivers, making Amazon Logistics and our delivery partners the preferred career choice. I manage a team of 3 direct reports which own listening mechanisms, roadmaps and business intelligence tools which enable Amazon Logistics to address the needs of delivery drivers better than anyone else.
Achievements: Over the course of 18 months, I managed to reduce the attrition rate of delivery drivers by 37%. I managed to do this through developing and driving a roadmap prioritizing a combination of tactical and strategic projects that address top customer pain points. I achieved this whilst also growing the team from 3 to 11 people. My team also praised my engaging and supportive leadership style through rating me an average 99% for their ‘manager satisfaction index’, which was the top score amongst a group of managers within my business unit.
I delivered a streamlined, connected end-to-end product lifecycle management tool that integrated engineering, purchasing, and supply chain processes. This reduced warranty costs of a specific vehicle model by 81%.
Responsibility: My objective is to standardize change management processes and reduce the overall lead time to make a change (from engineering change request to purchase order issued to supplier). I manage a team of 16 direct reports.
Achievements: I delivered business transformation through embedding continuous improvement quality actions within cross- functional departments. This allowed me to improve the end-to-end right first time from 17% to 98% for one specific vehicle line, reducing the design to purchase order lead time from 94 to 23 days. My team also rated me an average 98% for their ‘manager satisfaction index’, which was in the top 3 amongst a group of managers (over 100) within my regional business unit.
Delivered Jaguar’s first SUV from concept to mass production, on-time and to quality. Also delivered model year refreshes and emissions/compliance programs across Jaguar and Land Rover products.
Responsibility: As part of the central program management office, my objective is to lead the strategy, delivery and launch of new vehicle programs. I own the scope (technical and feature requirements), change management decisions, schedule, budget, risks and issues, and drive a team of cross-functional leaders to deliver the overall programs. I also secure funding and leadership approval through presenting program status to the board at each gateway. My two main assignments were leading the following vehicle programs (with 3 direct reports) from concept to mass production: (1) Jaguar’s first SUV (F-Pace), and (2) An accelerated mid-cycle refresh for 5 models, which included a powertrain upgrade for emissions compliance (‘program 2’).
Achievements: I delivered both programs (combined cost £1.25BN) on time and to budget. I also received the 2016 World Car of The Year Award in person, in a ceremony hosted by the CEO.
Delivered an industry-first switchable water pump in partnership with a global OEM and two Tier 1 suppliers.
Responsibility: As part of the Advanced Diesel Technology department, my objective is to research and deliver new engine technologies. I own the technical requirements, schedule, budget, risks and issues, custom building prototype engines/vehicles, running testing, and manage a cross functional team of internal stakeholders, suppliers, an OEM, and consultancies to introduce innovation. My main assignment was to improve the fuel economy of a diesel engine variant by 2%.
Achievements: I delivered three industry-first technologies (combined cost £45MM), of which one I patented, in return for a 6% fuel economy improvement across all new vehicle programs.
